On a weekend in April the Woden Valley Soccer Club hold the Lightning Football Tournament.

The Lightning Football Tournament is organised by the groups within the Woden club to fund raise for events such as the Gothia Cup in Sweden. The competition is supported by Woden Valley Soccer Club and endorsed by Capital Football. The event is generally held over 2 days and includes divisions for both boys and girls.

Following on from the HUGE success of the previous Lightning Tournaments, this pre-season event is now in its 6th year and is fast becoming the largest of its kind in the local region.  It provides a quality competition for players and a great opportunity for clubs and coaches to finalise their teams prior to the start of the winter competition.
