Braving the elements the senior Belnorth players enjoyed a BBQ at John Knight Park.
The Belnorth Football Club is providing fun but challenging football training and competition for well over 1000 children and adults last year and this has continued in 2008. Most of these participants hail from suburbs in the North Belconnen region of the A.C.T. such as Kaleen, Giralang, McKellar, Flynn and Melba.
For many years, children as young as five years old have had the opportunity to learn individual skills as well as participating in the healthy outdoor team activity that is world football. Please feel free to browse this site and gain an insight into the goings-on on the club and to find out information about various topics. You may wish to bookmark this site in your 'Favourites' so that you may come back at any time for up to date information.
Belnorth is also a Senior Club with teams playing in ACT State Leagues and Masters competitions for both men and women. Something for everyone!
As part of various initiatives within the club there are several mailing lists which you may chose to be part of. Please feel free to check in the various areas to see if one or more of these lists suit your needs.

Many of you may not know that Belnorth has teams playing in summer competitions around the traps.
Here is a write-up from one of our social ladies teams running under the name 'Belnorks'.
****
The score: 3-0 to Belnorth.
It was a great game to watch with terrific passing and talking by the girls on the pitch, our team mates and supporters on the side line who also shouted out great advice and encourged any one who was close to the ball.
The first goal was scored by my self in the opening minutes. We were given a free kick and while the defenders were still getting themselves set, I pushed the ball through the top left hand corner. The ball passed all the defenders and Goalie. Some of the players weren't sure a goal had been scored until the referee blew her whistle.

Hi all,
Next year we have elected to run our registration days on the 21st and 22nd of February for those not wishing to or are unable to use the new online registration system.
This was to avoid Valentine's Day celebrations as well as to assist building our Pee Wee ranks in 2014 ;-)

Hi Belnorthers,
The 2008 AGM has been run and for the first time in a number of years it was necessary to hold a ballot to choose some of the elected officials.
There was also much constructive discussion around the future direction of the club including better involvement with the senior players and more support for families who may have difficulties meeting the cost of putting their kids or themselves into sport.

Upon going through the minutes of the 2007 AGM it was noted that the current Treasurer was elected for a two year term. This means that the role is not up for re-election given that no resignation has been forthcoming.
We do apologise for this mistake and will give those who have nominated for all positions a change to re-evaluate their submissions.
The closing date for new submissions via email is Sunday the 30th of November at 9pm.

Playing on a Kaleen pitch dubbed ‘the Prairie’ the Belnorth Bison of Div 8 had its best ever finish this year bounding along as a herd to a final placing of 5th. Another impressive achievement for the team was that we were one of only two teams to beat the eventual Grand final winners Belconnen. Once again we were excitement machines scoring at a rate of 1.5 goals a game with Damien ‘Bolts’ Bolton our golden boot.

This year’s Under 12 Girls Division 1 team consisted of Imogen Andrews, Talia Backhouse, Rochelle Borgeaud, Emily Brayshaw, Nicky Jalocha, Theresa Kinnane, Ebonie Lazdovskis, Jaime Locke, Jessica Muirden, Holly Murney, Alex Paterson and Sarah Vavoulas.
The girls participated in a number of tournaments and carnivals over the season on top of their weekly club draw. They began the season with an amazing victory in the Lightning Tournament where they won the Under 12 Girls’ Trophy. They were undefeated in all their games, despite players participating with injuries and illness. It was a wonderful start to the 2008 season.

Hi Belnorthers,
Many of you may have noticed that during the production of the Year Book that many reports have not made their way into print and do fully understand the frustration and disappointment of those who took the time to write the reports and those who were the subject of the text.
Please know we are looking into the situation to determine a course of action and apologise wholeheartedly to yourselves and the children.
To ensure we have the best chance of ensuring we have the right equipment for you please register quickly so that we can cater for any extra numbers in time for the first week.
