Here is a write-up from one of our social ladies teams running under the name 'Belnorks'. **** The score: 3-0 to Belnorth. It was a great game to watch with terrific passing and talking by the girls on the pitch, our team mates and supporters on the side line who also shouted out great advice and encourged any one who was close to the ball. The first goal was scored by my self in the opening minutes. We were given a free kick and while the defenders were still getting themselves set, I pushed the ball through the top left hand corner. The ball passed all the defenders and Goalie. Some of the players weren't sure a goal had been scored until the referee blew her whistle. There was also much constructive discussion around the future direction of the club including better involvement with the senior players and more support for families who may have difficulties meeting the cost of putting their kids or themselves into sport. They were undefeated in all their games, despite players participating with injuries and illness. It was a wonderful start to the 2008 season.
